Originally know as Bullhook Bottoms, Havre (pronounced HAV-er) is the seat of Hill County and one of the larger cities in Central Montana. With the creation of the Great Northern Railway, Havre became a booming railroad town and served as a mid-point between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Seattle. These days of the booming railroad and prohibition created a unique and interesting history for Havre and the surrounding communities that create the Hi-Line of Montana.

Today, Havre serves much of the North Central agricultural community and is a great place to visit along U.S. Highway 2. Our community features a variety of historical attractions, outdoor and recreational activites and special events.

Welcome to Havre
